Time flies. Yet another 2 weeks has passed.
13th April was Musicfest, the last official council event planned by the 23rds. It was indeed a high note to end the chapter.
Through our council term, events after events, we learnt, supported one another, forged bonds, friendship, camaraderie, experienced, made mistakes, reflected upon them and so much more.
And to think that in exactly a week’s time, we’ll all be stepping down and handing over to the 24ths. And yet another chapter closes. Who knows what lies ahead.
Oh, anyway after musicfest, Geroge, Jireh, Zara, Valerie and myself stayed over in school as the public buses were already off service past midnight. We almost brought the whole place down; sending off the school alarm, calling up the OM, security by-passes. Concurrently having the arrival of security company attendants, police officers, parents of fellow Victorians, and even strangers; all happening in the wee hours that morning. And to think I was crazy enough to ask the police officers to take a group photo with us, of which they declined, only later to find out they were not allowed to do so.
And it was really cool having the whole toilet to ourselves. Showering during the weirdest time. Singing at the top of our voices without restrictions. And we did a cappella for “You raised me up” which sounded really really nice. A pity Mansoor wasn’t with us!
What a night adventure.
18th April was one hectic day. It was X-country, VS Co-ed forum and piano performance at Esplanade concourse all on the same day. I decided to go for the X-country and piano performance instead, considering the fact that the timing for the forum clashes head on with the performance.
Our crossers have done well, girls emerging champions and guys 3rd, earning us a half day the next day.
Rushing down to esplanade in the most amazing race style, arriving just on time for dinner, but too late for soundcheck.
Many interesting things happened during the performance. Firstly, our first performer was still in the toilet when our emcee Charlotte announced the commencement of the piece; I can’t remember how Charlottee actually convined the crowd to wait for his return during our anxiety then. Also, ZK actually left his performer’s pass on the parapet, which got us reprimanded by a police guard who kept emphasizing how dangerous it was, as anyone could just pick up the pass and be given access backstage to sabotage. This pass proved itself to be extremely important, and needs to be scanned in a computer upon entry and departure. Apprantly the scanner gave such an unexpected loud *beep who got me startled and acted like a himbo in the guards room. And there was a fine print on the pass which states a fine of $50 if misplaced! Can’t imagine ZK having to fork out that amount due to carelessness.
Anyway, just some random photo. Caught him sleeping in the most peculiar way ever in the council room. Seems like he’s dancing if seen from the bird’s eye view. Shall keep his identity secret so as to protect his modesty. =P
On a sidenote, congrats to friends from Strings (Gold with honours), Guitar (Gold) and Harmonica (Gold) for the wonderful results.
