farewell assembly

5 10 2007

Now that I’ve reached the end of the road, this 2 years seemed so fast, too fast. I could still remember not too long ago studying hard for the O Levels, and how badly I wanted to do well so as to enter VJC, and continue my journey as a Victorian. Following which, it seemed as though it was only yesterday that I first stepped into this foreign ground in the VS uniform, how I couldn’t differentiate the T-blocks from the V-blocks. It didn’t seem too long ago returning back to VS with Mrs Chan to persuade my Sec 4 juniors to come to VJ then.

On the contrary, there were times when it felt as though college life was a never ending journey when things seemed just so horrendously wrong. I remembered how badly I wanted school to end just then so as to hide away from everything, while friends I’ve confided in constantly reassuring me how much I would definitely miss college life after graduation.

But when things seems to be turning for the better now, and when stronger bonds, friendship & relationships are beginning to forge, especially over the past few months, it now sadly comes to an end.

Indeed, it was mixed feelings today during farewell assembly, thinking that everything; good and bad memories, misunderstandings, as well as the things that were not handled properly and left suspended, would all come to a closure after today. In addition, the fear of not seeing my friends again, and thinking that I’ll be singing the Victorian Anthem for the last time as an official Victorian with my peers, a routine since 6 years ago, was more than intriguing. On top of these, the sense of enthusiasm and satisfaction felt rushing back once again while standing in front with my fellow red shirts leading the school in cheers, something which I will definitely miss.

Nonetheless, the past 2 years has been a tiring, yet rewarding journey. Though the journey, I’ve fallen, and learnt how to pick myself up. And the precious relationships forged, the camaraderie; friends followed up from VS as well as new friends made through class 06S55, Orientations, CCAs, and even acquaintances met along the way. And most memorable are definitely the shared experiences with Creon, and the 23rd batch of Student Councillors; through the planning of school events, cheering, late nights and drilling camps.

Here, I would like to thank you all my teachers, friends, fellow councillors, seniors and juniors alike for the enriching (shared) experiences, your gifts, notes of appreciation, encouragement, support, advice and times spent with me. These are invaluable experiences and memories that I’ll hold on to for the rest of my life.

and moving on with life…

acadamics

oh man, it’s just so horrible. gah.

i missed those days where everything is paved out so nicely for you.

Kindergarden –> Primary School —> Secondary School –> JC

Now it’s JC –> (army of course, but) what course, which university, funding for higher education –> your occupation, your dreams, the future.

Enjoy whilst it last.

the break

24 09 2007

This break after our preliminary exams has been more than welcomed. A short few days break after our 1 month ordeal, followed by another month before the finale.

Maximising the short-lived break as much as possible, I’m sure we Victorians lost no time at all either going for our planned activities or even catching up on our sleep, those we definitely lost during the exam period.

And so immediately after the last paper, we S55 went out for breakfast at Macs, and then to watch Chuck and Larry, followed by shopping and eating and shopping and eating and eating and shopping. And Wei Ming learnt not to play with fire, hahas.

Then the next day, the few of us S55 guys met up at tampanis library under the lead of Boss Jimmy to buy some stuff. And then the rest of us went to chill out our childhood days.

Following which was the movie screening at Darel’s with Marc and Shuhua upon his last Biology paper, but never did we expect the movie to turn out somewhat close to R-21. We were then forced to stay over, since we started the movie late at night, after spending the whole afternoon with the broken xbox. By the way, thanks for the wonderful hospitality, Mr. and Mrs. Seow.

On Saturday, there was table tennis with Shuhua and George at Marc’s imba country club in the evening, which was located in an unbelivable area – almost out of civilisation. And it was one of the most eerie places to walk in or out from. It was almost pitch darkness outside by the time we left. While walking out the 45-minute route for some prata at Jln Kayu, we were greeted by many empty houses which seem like an old war-zone.

And Sunday was our impromptu Ubin trip. And under the lead of an NPCC and a scout, you could imagine what kind of crazy outfield activities we have done.

Guess what, the shop name is “y u so like that!”

Our field cooking. And we realised we didn’t bring utensils! So our fork was the can opener from addison’s swiss army knife.

Visiting the Goddess of Mercy with directions from the coconut uncle, where we found out about how someone tried to monopolise Ubin with her own coconuts!

Two more days left of break, and after Wednesday, it’s no more fun and play, but working all the way till the A levels!

How have you spent your break?

P.S. Good luck to all my J1s juniors taking their promos =)

smarter virus

19 09 2007

It’s common nowadays to see MSN viruses spreading around without the notice of the infected user. Some of the more popular ones are like the recent photo album virus etc.

Usually when an infected user tries to send you the file(virus), and should you question him/her about it, he/she never seem to reply your message (as the virus prevents him/her from receiving your message).

But woah, this one I’ve just seen is one unique breed. This virus impersonates the user and responds to you through the user’s MSN without his/her knowledge, causing you to let your guard down. Furthermore, it even tries to mimic how we teenagers talk, making it seem really convincing.

And guess what, it has different versions too!

I received this message from the same person (or rather, the same virus) 5 mins later.

Cool ei. I wonder how many more versions are there.

But woah, this is no joke man, I wonder how many people will fall for it.

So, do not be tricked!
